Tools for the Road
TCI’s Jewbilee retreat brings together Jewish students, friends, and allies from around the country for a weekend to explore Jewish identity, enhance student leadership and community, and enrich the experience of independent school culture. The theme of this year is Tools for the Road - Life Skills with TCI. Throughout the weekend, we will hold interactive workshops which will allow students to develop and refine their " Life Toolkit."
Teachers are encouraged to attend with their students, and TCI hosts parallel professional development workshops, case studies, and discussions on how to support student leadership. Faculty will also have the opportunity to join student sessions.
At Jewbilee, young people are integral to the planning process. Each year, student leaders work with TCI staff to create a dynamic weekend where they can:
Schedule
Participants should expect to arrive between 4-6pm on Friday, January 14. Jewbilee will conclude on Sunday, January 16, at 1pm. Please click here for a detailed schedule.
Cost
Jewbilee, a weekend in Boston, is an investment in faculty leadership; consequently, TCI subsidizes faculty participation. The fee includes all program fees, meals, and accommodations (Friday dinner through Sunday lunch). For teachers traveling from the San Francisco Bay Area, the fee includes airfare on a chaperoned, group flight. Faculty may want to bring pocket money for Saturday evening. If this cost is prohibitive, limited financial aid may be available. Please be in touch with your regional director to request assistance.

Jewbilee participants will share rooms. If you would like a single room for the weekend, an additional charge of $150 will apply. Please be in touch with Jerry McGee to arrange for a single room.

Transportation to Jewbilee
Jewbilee participants are responsible for their own transportation, however, there will be chaperoned groups traveling to and from Jewbilee from Washington, D.C., Baltimore, San Francisco, and New York, at designated times.
